Scientology & False Bomb Threats

Scientology is adept at silencing anyone critical of them, a favorite method is the false bomb threat. Resulting in nemerous police invsetigations and one near success, here are a few examples.

2007
The BBC

All through the filming of a Panorama news documentary, in early 2007 - Scientology was stalking, harassing and attempting to intimidate the BBC news team. Shortly after filming a protest of the Scientology operation in London, Scientology accused the BBC of making bomb threats, and said as much in a creepy documentary which they had webbed by a Scientology controlled company

1984
Jerry Whitfield

"Although they never met while in the Church of Scientology, Hana and Jerry both left the cult in 1984. They met shortly after that, were married in 1985, and together have faced harassment from Scientologists. After he was accused of writing a bomb threat to Sterling Management, a front group for Scientology, Jerry showed investigators papers about the "PC Freakout," a Scientology plot to discredit author Paulette Cooper, who had written a scathing book about the group, accusing her of a similar plot. "As it turned out, the private investigator looking into the matter was a handwriting expert and already knew I hadn't printed the note," he said. Private investigators lured by Scientology still question neighbors, family, and friends. Jerry said he takes their pictures and goes out to talk to them whenever he sees them."

2008
Protesters outside 1701 20th Street NW, Washington DC

"From what we heard from Anons in our area not at our event, the Church was swarming with police, firetrucks, and what appeared to be the bomb squad. We didn't post anything about it because we were all too busy partying to get any pics or info updates on this, and it didn't appear to have anything to do with Anonymous.

Apparently, we were wrong.

A few brave Anons went on a flier raid tonight by our local org. When they noticed a Scientologist had gotten a ticket for parking illegally, they popped inside to give them a friendly heads up...and immediately had the cops called on their asses. Lame. The cops were completely cool, our Anons aren't in any trouble at all. They were told by the police that the "bomb" on March 22 was actually a box stamped with the word "bomb" on it. Then the police wondered how such a thing would have ever managed to make it through the post office if it had really been sent to them through the mail."
